Pros

Present: Mostly work with animal lovers that want what is best for the animals. I believed we are the best kind of People! Those who are willing to care for others. Pasttence: Great Company morals. Worked for the good of employees, animals and customers. There was a sense you mattered. There was potential for growth. Now that has changed.

Cons

The work load and stress has doubled. Every thing is about making plan $$$ instead of "Saving lives." It has gone from a career with a future to a job. Management is a revolving door so everything is either incomplete or up in the air.

Pros

- Great team members - Great health insurance (albeit a bit expensive) - Discount on pet food and supplies - Family oriented, at least in my store - Flexible - Honestly, overall it is a pretty great place to work. Yes, the customers get under everyone's skin, but the employees you work with are pretty great and make up for it. I consider most employees to be my friends as well as my coworkers. We all take care of each other, management, associate, etc. It doesn't matter what position you are in. You get treated like family.

Cons

- Works everyone too hard due to labor cuts - Having to be nice despite people stealing from us (obviously stealing), being incredibly rude (we're talking cussing us out type of rude), and legitimately wondering if they can keep a guinea pig in a hamster cage - Takes FOREVER for change to happen, even if someone on the team is detrimental to the success of the store

Pros

15% off discounts which can be combined with the sale items and coupons. Small family atmosphere where just like with any family we can get on each other's nerves and within 5 mins the most, we all love each other again. Open door policy. Cross training is available for everyone. Flexible schedules. Outings for events as a team. Everyone is cross trained which means everyone helps out and no one says "sorry not my job" Free pet food once a month and monthly additional coupons for employees

Cons

For about a year now I have noticed that we are extremely under staffed. 1 cashier, 1 manager and 1 Petcare specialist in the evenings which are usually busy due to customers coming in after work. Often times the manager is backing up the cashier the pet care specialist is helping in their area and a customer needs help shopping or getting things to their car or has questions and would like for an associate to help. Often times this leaves the customer waiting for someone to be available and they become frustrated and even leave.
