Pros

Working with animals Helping people with their pets The CEO is a very bright and positive person, but in the trickle down his message gets twisted and lost.

Cons

gutted payroll- too many tasks not enough time. MGM forcing her views on the store levels and not putting animals first. They say they're there to help, but they're really not. I'm not confused, you don't work for me. You don't listen. Unfair pay. New hires get more pay than long time loyal employees. No yearly raises.

Pros

I enjoy working with the animals. Problem solving with customers to overcome their pets issues. Felt well treated for the first couple years with the company.

Cons

Pays less than other large retail stores. Horribly mismanaged their covid response, breaking all promises they had initially made to their employees. Have done nothing to protect the people working in stores. Even prior to COVID we were constantly running our store on too few hours, leading to poorer animal care. Company as of June 2020 has stopped 401k matching. Has cut hours. As well as not giving yearly raises in 2020

Slightly better than being unemployed

Cons

Many of the reviews here are accurate. There is a good ole boys club here. I have seen others in my area lose their jobs after contacting HR over serious concerns that should be addressed. Fear, intimidation and threats of losing your job if you’re not a team player. Openly they talk about how great the store staffs are but behind closed doors it’s a different story. Everyone in the c suites covers each other and you are forced to work under hostile conditions or get another job.
