Pros

The only good thing about this company is that you get to work with animals. However, if you love animals, don't work for this company.

Cons

Poorly managed and most staff members are horrifically overworked. It is not uncommon to work 18 hours in a row and not receive overtime since the hours span over 2 seperate "days". We do not have the proper tools to do our jobs. Little communication, even less training, worst customers ever. This is, by far, the worst company I have ever worked for in my 20 year retail career. I can't say too much or they will sue me for slander (yes, they will, I've seen them do it before). Do yourself a favor and forget Petco even exists. They are a machine which chews up employees and spits them out a mangled, bloody mess.

Dirty, cluttered office, lack of parking Too many meetings, people do not respect time of peers. A lot of talking about it and not enough time to do the tasks. They need to get some more help, people are overworked! You fill out surveys on leadership but nothing has changed from last year's poor survey score. Systems are HORRIBLE, very manual Lack of recognition from management Management is stuck in the way things have always been done Micromanagement, micromanagement. Everyone wants to approve everything! People there are overworked, stressed and it's a very chaotic environment. Everything runs downhill but noone wants to give clear, concise direction. Then they change their minds several times throughout a project and you are expected to conform with a smile. Management does not want to hear your opinion, they just want you to do what they want. I have never talked to my VP, he doesn't even know my name!

Pros

Loved most associates and animals. Enjoyed the animals that came in for training & adoptions. The customers were great !!

Cons

The GM was horrible,treated employees poorly did not show any respect and did not give any praise at at all. There was no communication between management and associates.
