Pros
Broad company culture, company perks, "family" feel, work life balance, cool office environment. PitchBook is amazing in many areas and most will agree that the connections you make (both departmental and cross departments) will be deep and strong. 10/10 environment in terms of feeling like a startup despite no longer being one. Some of PB's leaders are FANTASTIC people that create a space for belonging and respect. Especially the ones that can walk the talk and live by the values they routinely preach.
Cons
Disconnected and toxic leadership chain, popularity contest for promotions, unrealistic company goals, consistently hidden and twisted information. Remember that feeling in middle or high school where you desperately wanted to be a part of the "cool kids" group and always wanted to get ahead of others that felt the same? Well.. PitchBook is similar to that. Senior leadership acts as an immune clique and consistently show a disconnect with the requests and needs of those below them. No matter the magnitude of the issue... There are too many fake personalities that put on the corporate mask better than I've ever seen. Some leaders? Fantastic. Others? They have quite simply never done the job of those working below them. Strong emphasis on the word "below" here because you will absolutely feel belittled and inferior when reporting to the toxic ones. If you do have something serious to report, HR does not listen well to concerns. Upon hearing what is truly going on behind the scenes with a management chain THEY are personally intimidated by, you will be blackballed and labeled an "alarmist" by your own leaders and HR does what they are told. tldr - if you do not bow down to an egocentric manager or skip manager, your life and job will become hell.
