PitchBook -> A High-Growth, High-Potential Business Where Employees Can Drive Change
Pros
Over the course of my time at PitchBook, our business has grown substantially. We have evolved from a startup into a several hundred million dollar business. What's more exciting is that there is a ton of runway in front of us, including a realistic path to $1B in annual sales. The opportunity for personal and professional growth a PitchBook is real. I have seen employees move cross-functionally (e.g., data operations to sales) countless times, as well as move up the seniority hierarchy quickly relative to the "average" tech company. Additionally, employees have been able to relocate from the US to Europe, Europe to the US and the US to Asia. I expect these opportunities to continue as we scale the number our office presence globally (both in PitchBook and our parent company, Morningstar's, offices). The executive leadership team genuinely cares about its employees. If you take it upon yourself to provide constructive feedback, they will gladly make time in their schedules to listen thoughtfully and implement said feedback. We have diversified our workforce substantially in recent years (and actively continue to do so (we just hired a senior-level professional to serve as a DE&I business partner), adopted a hybrid work schedule, and improved benefits over the years. Many of the negative Glassdoor reviews contradict my view on the situation, but it's important to remember that big changes (e.g., workforce diversification) take years to accomplish. The most vocal critics of PitchBook's policies often have relatively short tenures at the firm. Over the long-run, I believe that our leadership team will continue to make decisions that strike a reasonable balance between employee demands and business goals that help maintain our culture. Fun. Make it Fun is a core value of PitchBook. If you like working hard and celebrating successes, PitchBook is the place for you. Mariners / Sounders games, sailing excursions, happy hours at The Nest, go kart racing and team dinners and golf tournaments are scratching the surface of ways we like to have fun together.
Cons
-If you want to work remotely, PitchBook is not the right employer for you.
