Pros

When one goes through training, they are trained on all positions of the workplace until your managers/supervisors find a position best suited to the abilities that you have portrayed to them. This ensure that whatever positions they choose you for, they know that you can accomplish it to the best of your ability. The workplace is also generally really upbeat because of the G-SET that Portillo; heavily instills in all of its employee's: Greet, Smile, Eye Contact, Thank You!

Cons

Working a closing shift at Portillo's is usually a hassle, especially if you're one of the cooks or the cashiers. Being that the workplace is a fast food restaurant, there is always going to be that ONE person that comes in one minute before the place is about to close. Because of the company mantra to give all of its customers the best service possible, you have to smile and be upbeat... even at 11:59 p.m. when you should be counting down your register, cleaning your area and going home for the night.

Pros

-Good benefits for full time workers -Flexible hours (I could obtain more hours or switch my weekly schedule to afternoons/nights if I needed to) -Food discounts while working (but only while working) -Recognition of accomplishments for good customer service

Cons

-Atmosphere is comparable to a sweat shop -Management turnover is ridiculous (After 3 months of work my location went through 3 store managers) -Lower level managers are terrible -Amount of stress shouldn't be as high as it is for employees just starting out
