Pros

Good people trying to make the best in a bad climate

Cons

We all know now that the phrase one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch is true. This person has turned our environment toxic. He has caused people to leave in droves. Daily emails announce the next person to leave. There is so much work everyone is burning out. Why do we allow this to go on?

Poor Leadership

Pros

There are a lot of talented employees that come through Premera's doors

Cons

The leadership is so controlling and micromanaging that although there is a lot of talent available, they are greatly undervalued and underutilized and the turnover for talented people is significant. The executive leadership team will retaliate if you speak up and try to do the right thing. DEI is nearly non-existent, any real efforts on the behalf of employees is blocked by senior leadership.

“Change” is a lip service

Pros

Good people, nice benefits, and a pension

Cons

This company’s leadership team doesn’t care about people of color. They continue to believe that “colorblindness” and other “Premera is one big family” is a sufficient way to celebrate and tackle our differences. Any commitment made to DEI was lip service by seasoned marketing profesionales who are now in leadership positions. The turnover for non white individuals is high, as the micro aggressions run everyone out. You are hired as an agent of change, but this company has no desire to innovate.
