Pros

Overall company atmosphere and moral are great! Under the new leadership of Jeff Roe the company has clear guidelines and is communicating with all employee levels. Pay is competitive, benefits including pension, 401k match, time off are all competitive with other companies in the area. Growth is really fed within the organization.

Cons

Some areas of the company have a higher level of expectation which can cause low morale.

Pros

Fair health benefits, 401 k package, pto scheduling, and pay is average for the expected performance. Working from home is a super plus

Cons

Shift setup has changed a lot the past few years. Some equations to help track performance has been eliminated making it a more slanted scaling

Dysfunctional IT Leadership

Pros

Free parking. Good retirement options.

Cons

Health insurance coverage is bad compared to other large employers. They have cafeterias with some good options but it's not cheap. Nothing is free, including the coffee. IT management doesn't seem to know what they are doing. Basic requests take months and they don't have a service catalog. There is a lot of talk of change but when it's time do the hard work people make excuses and blame others. I have been with the company about 2 years and while some things have improved, it has been marginal. Expectations are not made clear, instead they ask for something that takes weeks to put together and they simply say "That is not what I want, do something else".

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Premera's IT teams are undergoing a significant transformation as we drive to bring additional technology into healthcare. While we’ve made some great progress in updating our systems, we know this type of change takes time and there is still room to improve.
