The best of both worlds!

Pros

This young, growing firm offers diverse challenges and development opportunities both client-facing and internally. The staff is similarly diverse, sharp and very personable. Most importantly, the management team is progressive-thinking - they truly value their people and focus on building sustainable, win-win client relationships.

Cons

Perhaps some people would prefer the cache of a larger, "brand name" firm, but there is also an entrepreneurial opportunity that you don't find at an established company.

Pros

I love working at Propeller. The owners are amazing people and so are all of my co-workers. The projects are interesting and challenging, and I'm paid a fair wage. We have fun creating strategies together, whether it involves a specific project, recruiting, business development, training, or knowledge management.

Cons

I can't think of any. Having worked in Big 4 firms for years, this is a huge step up, in my opinion.

Pros

There are too many great things about Propeller to list, but here are a few. The culture is fun and fresh (from company-sponsored happy hours to karaoke to just wanting to hang out together), training is fantastic, the principles really emphasize employees with development and letting them have input on which clients to work with, co-workers are smart and good people, and you get to have a part in shaping the company via internal initiatives. Plus, there is room to grow your career here. The benefits are fantastic, including PTO (unlimited, just use your best judgement and take at least 3 weeks), the work is interesting (sometimes big projects, sometimes smaller), paid gym membership, cell phone, maternity/paternity leave, 401k matching, and honestly competitive salaries. Co-workers are genuinely collaborative and smart. The company believes in being open about where we are and where we're going so you're not left in the dark. No travel outside the Portland area for work and there is special emphasis on work-life balance because we're supposed to only work 40-45 a week on average. Not all clients/projects are created equal, but this is what we strive for.

Cons

Can't really think of any...
