Pros
Very few. The sales department is well run by a very solid professional leader and his team have some of the most exceptional resumes in the company and are extremely gifted and could take the business to another level if there was more communication between them, account management and customer service and a stronger understanding of how to integrate into European markets. The logistics department is also outstanding and full of extremely effective and committed employees. Computer programming has done remarkable things with what they've inherited and continues to work miracles with old code. Unfortunately, a lot of the other departments in the company are remarkably weak. If you are perceptive, you'll learn rather quickly how much illusion and fiction is created when buzz-words like "culture" and "growth" are so aggressively pushed. In reality, the inner-circle is two-faced, rather self-serving, lacking in ethics and dilettante when it comes to taking the company into global markets and beyond old hat ideas in marketing, media and product development. Management seems highly disengaged from their work-force and rarely interact with the majority of their employees unless there are cameras and an HR representative present, despite the company outside of logistics and warehouse being rather small. Suffers a bit from a very gossipy culture, several pockets of mediocrity within the work-force that bounce around from desk to desk seeking any tidbit of gossip start leaving their desks around 3.30 every day looking to pass the last hour and a half of their day. Account management and customer service departments are not very effectively organized and suffer from tremendous gaps in communication. On the weekends and after hours they are literally just serve to give clients and customers the illusion of existing, but in reality the minimum amount of investment and attention is paid to them. Creativity here is non-existent outside of computer programming and logistics, with the marketing campaigns generated by mostly local graduates of mediocre institutions recycling the same standard advertising 101 campaigns that have been standard since the early 1990's. Their approach to customer service is evasive and deliberately misleading, they lack any sort of broader training program and don't seem to even be aware of cognitive psychology or pedagogy when training employees. In other words, if you have decent credentials, use this place either as a resume grower for two years, but don't think about sticking around long-term if you are serious about intellectual, professional and cognitive growth.
Cons
Very poor communication between departments. Very limited commitment from the executive level to do anything but run the business on a tight budget and ensure decent profits for their investors and themselves with little to no investment in long-term growth. Very little professional decorum modeled by the General Manager and a rather delusional and self-aggrandizing vision of the future growth of the company that bares little to no resemblance with reality. Many of the company-wide meetings never mention actual qualitative or quantitative data that backs up their assertions of growth. Emotional, reactionary, unprofessional culture of bullying is tolerated and modeled at every level, starting at the top and trickling down to even the lowest positions in the company and tolerated by managers afraid of conflict or too cowardly to stand up for what's right because it isn't being rewarded by the executive board. Limited understanding of the sophistication required to adapt to European banking laws, extremely dishonest, incompetent and lecherous manager in customer service who does the bare minimum required and has no coherent or professional system in place to even train temps and uses underlings with no sense of decorum, professionalism or familiarity with more cultured clientele to understand how to connect with luxury and premium buyers at their level. Management is either not paying enough attention, isn't invested enough at all levels or simply advocates for a rather unethical and unprofessional approach to business operations. Take your pick. All three might be right.
