Going downhill rapidly

Pros

Amazing colleagues Interesting clients Good benefits

Cons

Since inviting in the investment bankers, the company has expanded rapidly, and there has been poor change management, colleagues are finding the new proceses are inefficient. Company culture has changed from client focus to money focus and quality is affected. Recent large scale redundancy shows the company is struggling.

Pros

a few coworkers were both competent and pleasant (I am glad I met them), but the nicer ones have been dismissed along myself at the same time or shortly after.

Cons

they only needed extra hands due to close deadlines, but stated they wanted to expand in order to attract me in. Looking for a temporary boost or embedding a new employee are completely different processes, and it was deceiving on their part to hide their real intention. moreover they lied about my performance in multiple ways, and took a pretext, first to extend my probation at the maximum legal time, and then to terminate my contract. I have plenty of evidence to support my claims, by the way. nonetheless, their contract was written in such a way that I could not challenge their decision in any way, and I had to work many more hours per week too. how can this be deemed legal, I ask you.

Going downhill fast

Pros

- The ability to work remotely, with a degree of flexibility and good work-life balance. - There is an opportunity to grow and learn from some very experienced individuals. - Salary and bonus payouts are good (but not great, particularly for European-based employees).

Cons

- The company is growing quickly, yet the attrition rate is high. A lot of experienced employees are resigning or moving away, and there is little to no communication when this happens. - At the same time, the company keeps promoting people into management/upper management positions who do not have the required experience/personality traits other than being ex-R&Q employees (employees coming from acquired companies are increasingly sidelined). - There is a general lack of planing, communication and clarity, and way too much eagerness to throw people under the bus to make up for incompetence and overpromising in terms of deliverables. - The small company feel prior to the acquisition/merger with in 2019 is dead. Both legacy R&Q and legacy Maetrics would have been better off not merging. - There is a lot of talk about employee-centric approaches and company culture, but unless you thrive in a toxic environment with continuous gaslighting, I recommend looking elsewhere. The blatant favoritism doesn't make things any better.
