Pros

Choosing Reading Partners was a great decision. I am surrounded by so many diverse perspectives and experience. The heart of what we do is grounded in forward-thinking, asset-based mindsets. I've seen the leadership team hold each other accountable while truly caring about each other through intense systems change. Here is an organization living into diversity, equity and inclusion, and making real progress - not lip service - toward a culture of belonging like I have not experienced before. I'm proud to be in my role!

Cons

Being all across the nation, I don't get to see my colleagues in person as often as I would like to. Sometimes being a large nonprofit, some processes can take longer.

Cons

-job satisfaction/stress level is variable based on service site and supervisor -americorps members don't receive the respect or flexibility granted to staff members -very high-stress job, not a ton of support or guidance (trial-by-fire)
