Pros

Great people/coworkers Relaxed dress code Good benefits Room for growth Industry with good job security

Cons

Fees like employee loyalty has gone out the window. When I first started we had JUST been bought out and the culture here was a lot more tight night and really bred loyalty. We were bought by Cox Automotive a while ago but more recently they have tried to make it more and more corporateized. Feels like they've created a gap between upper management and the people down in the trenches and they're only getting more out of touch with what we actually need help with. There is a huge disconnect between sales and the dispatch team and it makes sales have a difficult time because it doesn't feel like we're all one team like it should. When we need vehicles moved, and we are a logistics company so that is something we should be able to do, there is no support given from the dispatch team so we're left giving our clients half truths about working on their vehicles when in reality nothing has been done other than the car sitting on the dispatch board. This has been going on the last few months now and there hasn't been any sign of improvement. On top of all this, they started implementing a "Quality Assurance" program to start making sure we're saying the right things on the phone, staying logged in to the phone, answering it, etc. They flew corporate people into AZ all the way from Atlanta, GA, to start this. As if we didn't have enough pressure from angry clients and lack of help from dispatch, now we have someone, who knows nothing about what we do or how we do it, coming in from across the country to try and micro manage us and tell us how to do our jobs. Mind you, this year we've broken multiple records in regards to volume and sales before the QA was even started. It's extremely discouraging especially given how much I love working here and the clients I've built relationships with during my time here. It feels like they're focusing on the complete wrong issue here and they have no desire to listen to what we actually think needs to be done. I completely understand the logic behind the QA program and there are benefits to it however they are going completely overboard with trying to micro manage our day to day jobs and duties. I honestly love working here and hope they shift their focus a bit so we can continue to grow like we have been.

Pros

I've been working for Ready for almost 5 years and have watched as the company has evolved from a mom & pop transportation company to THE leader in automotive transportation and logistics. Along the way, I have been rewarded with several promotions. Hard work is noticed as is a positive attitude. Embrace the changes and grow with the company and you will not be disappointed. The company is in hyper-growth mode and that means we are changing rapidly. It makes for a fun, fast paced work environment. Benefits are great and our mother company, Manheim/Cox Automotive is very supportive. The sky is the limit as far as advancement opportunities are concerned. We are part of a large family of businesses with locations all over the country. You could virtually relocate to any state and find employment within Cox. This is truly a great company to work for. (Glass Door has John Blobner listed as the CEO. While he is Sr. VP of Ops and IT, he is not the CEO. A great guy all the same.)

Cons

Not a place for someone looking to just punch a clock and collect a check. We need motivated, forward thinking individuals who are willing to put in the work required to meet our lofty goals. Unfortunately we do have some "dead weight" that we must shed in order to progress. I trust that leadership is in control and that they will take the necessary steps to position us on the best path forward.

Good career experience, huge workloads, less than average pay

Pros

Ready Logistics is a place for committed go-getters who do not wish to simply sit back and watch the business operate. Though part of a larger organization, the group at Ready still has that mom-and-pop feel. Also, the company is growing very, very quickly. If you are looking at joining Ready, now would be a good time to jump on the train before it's too late. Patrick Brennan and Mary Tabuena are leaders in which the rest of the organization should model for creating great employee relationships. Just like EVERY other review the employees are what make coming to work each day a pleasant experience.

Cons

Where do I begin... First, some people at the company act as if they should be paid more for the "minor" job that they do. This is very evident in the attitude of dispatchers who refuse to work smarter and more collaboratively. Operations and technology need to understand that the business (sales and marketing) drives the demand and paychecks, so check the attitudes and ego at the door to work together. The workload is heavy. EXTREMELY heavy! If you're able to keep up, don't expect leadership to recognize and work proactively on a work/life balance. If you don't set the expectation that you want a work/life balance you won't have one. Also, expect to feel bad if you want to take the time off that you've earned, no matter how hard you work. Don't expect to be paid your worth. I'd recommend having some offers from different companies as a tool to leverage when talking about pay. Lastly, the technology group is a pain to work with. If they didn't originate the idea, or approve of your idea, you'll get the run-around until it's dead or you give up. Oh, and when you decide to leave, don't expect for leaders to acknowledge your presence or wish you success in your career beyond Ready. You're almost seen as a traitor who's hard work and time dedicated doesn't matter. By the time the decision came to leave, I didn't even want to be there.
