Pros

Nice Offices, Friendly co-workers, flexible work

Cons

Increased interest rates and other economic issues are creating headwinds for the company. They have had to do layoffs in most divisions and cut back tremendously. Stock price is down at historical lows. Dont see a bright future for the company.

Thank you for your feedback. Redwood has been in business successfully for nearly 30 years and we continue to work hard to ensure that we remain competitive and profitable in years to come. The company has progressively grown over the years, both organically and through acquisitions, adding employee resources to support parts of the business that have been expanding. In light of changing macro-economic market conditions over the past year some parts of the business have been expanding more quickly than others, and in some cases we have adjusted our employee head count accordingly. The experience of our team members remains a priority and we continue to invest in engaging and developing our employees as we move forward.

Pros

This is the best company I've ever worked for. My group is comprised of career-minded professionals who are as easy to work with as they are good at what they do. The culture is phenomenal, and you can truly be yourself while working with colleagues to achieve business initiatives. It's great to be a part of a company that combines an aggressive business vision with an emphasis on community service/giving.

Cons

There is opportunity for you to do as much as you want, but it is incumbent on you to seize it. Related: there is not a standard career path, people's growth expectations are somewhat nebulous. Annual compensation/promotion opportunity.

Pros

Opportunities for growth / career advancement Many experienced employees - 10+ years at Redwood is not uncommon For the most part, co-workers are hardworking, smart, and enjoyable to work with - good hiring practices Atmosphere is more laidback (less "corporate") than other places I have worked Smaller company allows for more direct contact with all groups - less hierarchy Great benefits that compete with other companies in the Bay Area

Cons

Executives do not always demonstrate a work-life balance and this dissuades employees from feeling comfortable using vacation time - tone at the top Some tenured employees are resistant to change - a lot of talk about the "good old days" at Redwood Minimal number of women in senior leadership

Thank you for your review and we greatly value your feedback! We also recognized the opportunity to further support the advancement of women within the org, which lead to the launch of our women's group called Redwood TogetHER earlier this year. Redwood TogetHER supports the hiring and advancement of women at Redwood and focuses on building community, professional development, connection with allies, as well as supporting infrastructure that makes Redwood an attractive place for women to join and develop their careers. All employees (all levels and all genders) are encouraged to get involved!
