Pros

PTO accrual is generous. Management training is available if an employee is interested.

Cons

All therapists/assistants have productivity demands of 90%, but the company implements more and more policies and activities itself that hinder daily efficiency, such as a repetitive and tedious documentation system, logging outcomes which could easily be drawn from discharge notes, weekly documents to be read on a separate system that takes at least 15 minutes to access and unexpected staff meetings several times a year with management which run at least 25 mins late and last at least an hour and a half a pop. Not only are productivity standards high, but point of service documentation is mandated despite company switching to a hugely flawed mobile system last November. Employee survey overwhelmingly came back that employees feel distrusted and distrustful of upper management-their solution was for us to do quarterly presentations on CEU we have completed. What? When asked how to do this within 90% productivity, ADO shrugs a shoulder. Benefits package has worsened with large deductibles and condescending program to health professionals to keep a lower rate, with recommendations to new mothers such as completing a sleep study due to feeling tired. I have seen an HR employee once in person in three years. Concurrent treatments are not encouraged but expected. Communication along company lines is very poor for such a large corporation. I was hired as a new grad, and after three years the only raise has been a company wide 0.5% raise. Other employees report this was the first in years. My pay scale is definitely on the low end of even the MO average. Ultimately, I am left feeling that the company would rather we be unethical and efficient as when asked for tips on how other buildings supposedly keep their entire rehab departments above 88%, we are answered only with, "They're just rockstars." They being departments with multiple new grads working in a three-floor building with no elevator access. Hmmm.

Pros

The only one offered are your coworkers

Cons

This company sees it's employees as machines. It has a high productivity expectation. They cater to the facility they are contracted with over following ethical guidelines. They push for patients who are not therapy appropriate to be placed oncaseload, completely ignoring evaluating therapists recommendations. They have horrible communication from the upper management down. Disorganized scheduling constantly leaves therapists scrambling to make up for incompetence on the part of management. But that may come from the rehab technician being called upon to complete the program director's work versus helping with patient care. I will also say that this company does not believe in orientation of new employess. You will have to learn the system on your own and that typically happens as you are being chastised for missing elements in documentation. The company is cheap. They rarely grant raises. I met a therapist that had received 5 raises over a span of 19 years! They also prefer to hire assistants in the rehab director position which makes little sense as they try to direct therapist on how to perform their jobs, when in reality the therapist has to supervise their director in order for them to complete treatment. There is a high turnover here because therapist burn out from the mental stress of the job. When facilifies complain the management will back the facility over their own team. This is a very discouraging company to work for. To hear new grads say they don't want to be therapist anymore because they feel used is just sad.

Pros

Making new friends and contacts. Overall, the staff therapist of all disciplines are good caring devoted people all struggling to do the right thing, bound to the company secondary to lack of jobs elswhere. We all want to provide excellent patient care. And in all honesty. ..we do the best we can despite the bureaucracy.

Cons

My current supervisor lacks flexibility. Productivity is impossible to accurately maintain. No time to take care of all other mandatory videos/quizzes/etc during work time...insurance benefits are terrible. No holiday/sick time accrual (all lumped into yearly PTO) no extra pay for working holidays. Appears to not value COTA ' S and PTA ' S Overall, worst company I've ever worked for. (I keep praying for an ethical boss)
