You're right that I do care deeply about our mission and our team. I also completely agree that we have strong talent at the operating level of the company. Building a rapidly growing business is hard and, with growth, it's often a good thing when new executives come into the business that have scale leadership/management experience. I'm grateful for the new executives that have joined in the last year as well as the reorgs that we've done to shift responsibilities ... I believe they're doing a lot of the things you mention below -- empowering the team to build a phenomenal product and service for our customers. I will also continue to introspect per your note below to ensure that no other changes need to be made to empower our team. Pros

I've learned more about software from the people and problems we solve here than anywhere else in my career. The team is motivated and full of smart, welcoming, friendly people - and the work life balance is excellent. There are many things in our tech stack like a mature metrics/monitoring solution, blue green deploys, good testing practices, and ubiquitous use of cloud tooling that I have loved using and am basically to the point of requiring for future jobs. Trying to have a huge positive impacts on the lives of immigrants is not just lip service - the people believe in the mission and it is happening. Overall fantastic place to work as an experienced tech employee. I have referred multiple former peers and family friends as a direct result of trusting that this will be a good place for them to work.

Cons

Rapid growth of the company creates opportunities - but can also introduce ambiguity - this is not an issue for everyone, but it is a culture that works best for folks who will enjoy a high degree of personal ownership.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm sorry that you had such a negative experience at Remitly. That's atypical so I'm curious what happened in your experience that led it to be so bad. I'm glad you noted that we have an exceptionally talented workforce and that we're very mission-driven. That's very true. I understand it's often hard to find objective data on what is 'fast' vs. 'slow' growth, especially when taking into account the size of a business and right comparables, which is why I've used this benchmark before that shows we're right around the 75th percentile of high performing companies in this dataset (https://medium.com/parsa-vc/revenue-growth-benchmarking-for-startups-c682b98c0270). We've reached this milestone because of high customer loyalty and because customers love using our product. We'll continue to invest growth and in continually improving our product on behalf of our customers.
