Once a great company

Pros

Same as other large consumer goods companies

Cons

Down hill fast after Auger retired. AVP’s and SDR’s are like puppets, scared to death of new leadership. Culture is at an all time low. Miserable is an understatement. TM’s on up are fed up. Good luck!

Pros

401k. Company car, that you're charged $175 per month to use... Regardless of it you use it for personal time or not. Health insurance used to be great, but is practically useless now. The ability to risk your safety and mental health in nasty convenience stores. Obtaining infections from working within said convenience stores (skin infections from touching those wonderful cigarette fixtures). At least we have good health insurance! Oh... Wait.. we don't. Having the scarlet letter of working for a tobacco industry on your resume. You're basically going to start from the bottom when you leave! Yay! Watching interns and new hires get quickly promoted because they're young and love to kiss the behinds of managers. Make sure that you're young and blonde, they like that a lot. Being denied promotions or transfers because "it's not what the company needs right now". Computer hardware and software that works... About 25 percent of the time. It's fun lugging a laptop charger with you all day to use. Also good luck in working your assignment! About half of your work won't be saved if you're in a cellular dead zone! Getting to tote around a garbage dump's worth of point of sale materials around in your car! By the way, it starts smelling like decomposition after a couple weeks, yay!

Cons

Now for the cons! No clear direction on job responsibilities, you think you're an area rep? Surprise! You are now an account manager and wholesale rep, but you don't get the title or the bump in pay. Bonus structure changes on a monthly basis, does anyone even understand how this works? Being forced to move at the company's whim. Spoiler: you're going to have to pay for it! Relocation assistance is only for the chosen few, or the Australians. Managers that change every year. This could actually be a pro considering the morons that are put into most management roles. Does Reynolds even know what a decent manager is? Being physically and sexually harassed by customers, that's always a great way to build character. By the way, the company doesn't care and will make sure that their contract is re-signed if you cancel it. They really don't want to miss any of those cigarette sales! Goofy local initiatives that are extra work and don't support increased sales. We really don't care about doing things above and beyond. Honestly, a lot of these reviews talk about how wonderful things were before BAT. Truth is, it's never been wonderful here. But BAT is doing their best to make it even worse. I'm guessing their "transformation" is to make all of their worker bees completely miserable. They've succeeded with this bee.

Pros

None, zero.....there are none whatsoever.....sad place to be.

Cons

This is a nightmare, no regard whatsoever for experience, age, leadership, knowledge. They ask for feedback and surveys but do nothing to resolve situations.
