Pros

* Opportunity to gain early childhood education experience.

Cons

* Poor hours with little flexibility. * Extremely high turnover due to inadequate training and lack of support. * Toxic, cliquey work environment. * Program managers and some shift leads were unsupportive and often made staff feel suffocated. * Educators received little meaningful support while being expected to manage chaotic programs. * Inconsistent quality of coworkers; some displayed unprofessional behavior around children. * Upper management was dishonest or unclear about payroll, expectations, and available support. * Low staff morale negatively affected parents’ perception of the company. * Frequent micromanagement instead of coaching or mentorship. * Communication from some managers was often condescending, aggressive, or focused only on mistakes. * Management rarely checked in to offer help, instead focusing on criticism. * Some leadership styles escalated children’s emotional situations rather than de-escalating them. * Certain managers appeared quick to assume children were acting maliciously instead of understanding the situation. * Overall culture left staff feeling undervalued, uncomfortable, and unsupported. * Lack of investment in employee development and long-term success. * Poor leadership contributed to burnout and made retention difficult. * There was an employee with a dangerous criminal record that went unnoticed by management for some time.

Pros

Some cool supervisors, kids can be fun, after school hours, generally can let the kids do what they want, can call out pretty easy

Cons

You will be switched to different school sites at random and with little heads up throughout the year. The curriculum that is given is useless. Nothing will ever be organized. There are dumb rules that you have to have the kids follow without being able to give them rewards. Little to no training for the job. Upper management will randomly pop in but do nothing to solve the problems they see but will blame staff

Pros

Staff are good people. Job requires lots of activity, which for me was great. Good diversity of staff, admin, and students. More neutral: Duties vary wildly based on the school. It's worth asking about specific structures not just in the company but in the place where you're assigned.

Cons

Hourly position with no pay over school breaks (at least during my time 2021-23), which is ridiculous. In other words, $0 paycheck around the holidays.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for highlighting our diverse, active, and supportive team! You make a great point about duties varying by location. While RAS maintains consistent quality and curriculum standards across all our programs, we also partner closely with local school districts to ensure we are Locally-Inspired, meeting the unique needs of each school and community. That can result in daily routines looking a bit different from site to site. We also appreciate your feedback regarding pay during school breaks. Because our schedule mirrors the school district calendar, we understand that closures can present financial challenges for our team. We are actively working with our district partners to identify opportunities to offer break camps. When those are available, it can support working families and offer additional opportunities for our team members to work and earn income during breaks. Thank you for your dedication to our students during your time with us. We wish you the very best in your career. If you have any other feedback or any questions, I'd welcome a chat with you!
