Pros

Great product, decent pay and benefits.

Cons

Ring is a great product, but its Leadership and HR teams left something to be desired at the time I was employed there. Guidelines and accountability were recommendations rather than law. Favorites often skated by on inconsistent or incomplete work, while others who poured their heart and soul into the product were treated poorly if they asked questions or made recommendations for improving company practices.

Cons

QA is being dissolved in slow motion. After the last reorg, most QA engineers were told to “transition to SDET” and start writing automation in Playwright and Python. Manual testing is basically gone. Managers keep talking about “raising the performance bar” and “owning quality end-to-end”—translation: do a dev’s job. The Pivot process looms over anyone who can’t make that jump fast enough. Communication is vague, morale low, and leadership still frames it as “career growth.” It’s not. It’s attrition via buzzword. They did the same with AWS. I have two children, and now what am I going to feed them?
