Pros

It gives you experience in a competitive market. stepping stone for experience.

Cons

The pay is awful. I have worked at corporate location who paid more hourly alone they i got hourly plus commission here. I was a store manager and was brought in under very false pretenses. I was told at how my store should be a 300 box store. I never got over 80. The whole thing is set up on make money fast but what sad is as bad as my store was, i made more at my store then the other 3 combined in the district. ohh and i uprooted my life at this opportunity based on promises that could not be kept. Not to mention i rarely had the phones i needed and countless HR fiascos involving my check where someone "Missed something"

Pros

Some of the customers are genuinely nice

Cons

Minimum wage and plenty of shifty stuff from sales on up to management. If you don't kiss the right rears the right way you won't get far. They act like the company has family values but it's a load of bull. You are JUST a number. The company has very high turnover and few long term employees. What does that tell you?

Pros

This job is hourly plus salary. But it is still low pay. 7.25 in my state to start and you will be capped at 10.00. Commission is $6 a phone and 10% of accessories. Minimum target of 33 phones/devices monthly. You will get free lunch on certain days (rarely) and awarded gift cards on your annual anniversaries ($10-$40)

Cons

Nobody is on your side. This company boasts about employee experience but fails to deliver the dream it so ignorantly promotes. If you are a store manager or a sales rep, you are not a trusted team member of upper management or corporate headquarters. If any discrepancy in commission is brought to your attention, you will be alerted via email and promptly have it taken out of your paycheck before given a chance to fix anything. Also when I took my vacation time I never had it applied to my check. This happened TWICE. I had a district manager offer me a couple hundred dollars so I could pay rent because my check was short because of this.. Again two separate times over 4 years!! There is absolutely no support from corporate office on resolving any issues. Even if your district sales manager steps in he doesn't have much of a say and maybe just in my case he wasn't very willing to get involved for me. The sales process is to excessive. You need to have a tool filled out for every sale going over every aspect of the customers life, covering tv solutions, tablets, home phones, mobile devices in the vehicle, cell phones, and family members cellphones. Then upload it to an app to "get others motivated" (big waste of company time). They live by a motto/acronym called JAMES Jump up, Ask questions, Make reccomendations, End with a sale, Set up for success. While this is an ok model go follow, you will get reprimanded for not following this with every sale. Also the prices of the devices at RC are more expensive than at a corporate location, giving the sales rep yet another hurdle to jump, and you are also expected to upswell customers on a 3 pack bundle price. If your normal iPhone costs you $200, well Russell cellular employees will begin to offer you the device at $250 with a accessory pack that "comes with it" and then if you want a case or contacts transferred this will be in addition to your starting price of $250. It's shady sales tactics and really the only opportunity you have to make any money as a rep. Also you are requested to bundle items onto a single sale. You never look out for the customer, you are expected to drop their bill only in the hopes to replace savings with another device or add on. More money in your pockets, to hell with the customers money. There are no benefits or packages offered to their employees and this is basically a job that gets you through college. I'm deeply sorry if you make this your career and never thought that you deserved better or were worth more than the garbage Jeff Russell and his associates treat there employees like
