Pros

Free coffee for all employees. Solid benefits package.

Cons

Our team had 2 members, myself (the lead) and a junior associate. After 6 months, I would respond to 200+ emails a day, work 60+ hours a week..my coworker would surf the internet all day long, show up to work late, leave early, speak rudely to myself and others..when I brought this to the attention of my manager, that the work distribution was uneven and it was killing me..my manager told me to "shutup and worry about myself". It was later brought to my attention that my coworker and my manager were friends..they would hang out outside of work, send each other online videos, etc.. all while I was in a corner doing ALL the work. I took no days off in the first 6 months of my employment. After the new year, I became seriously ill and had to take 2 weeks off from work. My doctor ordered me not to work and to relax.. my manager pressured me to go against my doctor's orders and threatened that the company would put me on a "long term disability" list if I didn't show up to work. They threatened not to pay me because I fell sick. (AGAIN, I didn't take 1 day off in 6 months..god help you if you do) I eventually left the company. For 6 months, I constantly followed up to have my 401K savings transferred to my current company's plan. For 6 months I was ignored. I left over 70+ voice messages. It wasn't until I threatened to get a lawyer involved that they took my inquiry seriously and reimbursed me for my savings plan. The salary was also underwhelming relative to the work. This was my first position out of college so I didn't really complain...but the 60+ hour work weeks, the office politics, the lack of sufficient training, the 200+ emails a day really got to me. Not a lot of growth. My manager was with the company for 5 years and made about 60k. With my whopping 1 year of experience, I received an 80k offer for a different company. RO will constantly try to underestimate your worth so they don't have to promote you when you produce great work. Aim higher, especially if you're college educated.

Pros

IT Engineers wear many hats, so there is the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide array of technologies.

Cons

This is a manufacturing company, so IT isn't viewed as a high priority in the company. The IT department lacks leadership and resources, and talent is spread far too thin. While engineers wear many hats and are exposed to a wide array of technology, most of it is dated. Exposure to current technology is limited due to an aging support staff that does not keep current in their technical abilities along with a lack of commitment to training from the company. There is little opportunity for advancement here and most employees stay in the same position for very long periods of time without promotion.

Pros

Cafeteria on site, coffee bar on site. Yep, that's about it.

Cons

Ok, let me try posting a review AGAIN bc somehow these all get taken down because I'm telling the truth but someone in HR is trying to cover it up... -Total old boy network -Promotions and hiring are based on how attractive of a female you are -Old school dress code (like dress pants and dress shirt and dress shoes). The old boy network loves their double pleated Haggar pants from JC Pennys -Lots of "lifers" there who aren't open to new ideas or change - Lots of nepotism - Vernon Hills and the surrounding suburbs/area are just lifeless and boring, unless you love Buffalo Wild Wings and Walmart -Pay is low for the job you do. I left and got $15K more for a similar job -Not close to any train stations so don't even consider this place if you live in the city of Chicago. Driving there is not an option as traffic is awful - Not much innovation. It's just paint, people
