Pros

I love my immediate team.

Cons

Since a recent IPO, the company has been going downhill. The company has been going through multiple rounds of mass layoffs across Operations, Finance, Accounting, IT, and other support groups. Many of my coworkers were laid off for cheaper labor overseas and/or temps/contractors, and they were asked to train their replacements on short notice with little to no oversight. The overseas staff are hard working, but they don't work within our timezone, and there are endless communication challenges. We are also required to come back to the office, or face termination (aka quiet layoffs). One of our core values is integrity, but to layoff many hard working and tenured coworkers for overseas workers while making record profits and going through constant mergers and acquisitions seems dishonest.

The decision to partner externally in order to expand and have a more flexible option with our workforce is never an easy one. We hope to continue doing the right thing when/if this happens, and again appreciate your candor.

Pros

Decent health benefits and PTO offerings. Flexible WFH schedules depending on team. Middle management was generally good to work with.

Cons

My role was outsourced in mid 2023 (along with numerous other corporate teams) and I was asked to assist in training my offshore replacements before I found a role elsewhere. If you’re not in a production role, upper management gives you little to no training and opportunities for advancement. The culture in the office is nonexistent, and networking within the company is incredibly difficult. Corporate teams also had low compensation and high turnover, possibly due to the former. Senior management has a serious disconnect from the people who actually make the company run. For example, the timeline for the previously mentioned transition to offshore resources was estimated at 18 months by middle management, but senior management ordered it to be done in 6 weeks instead.
