Pros

- Good health insurance - clean facility

Cons

everything you’ve seen in the bad reviews is basically true. - pay is extremely low, high turnover because of this - constant changes without notice or proper transition - outdated systems - no room to grow, if you leave sales you will be taking a pay cut the biggest con is that upper management/whoever makes the decisions promises open communication but on their terms. they don’t like criticism and would rather label it as unprofessional rather than understanding that when employees do not have a place to express concerns they may get frustrated. it’s very disheartening and disappointing to see a big company value profits over the hardworking employees that make the profits happen.

Pros

Good entry-level experience in a corporate role at a cubicle farm.

Cons

Below-average salary, 401K vesting period is five years. Pre-COVID the remote work policy was basically non-existent. The constant grand announcements of RTO signaled disorganization and a disconnect. For example, back in November 2020, we were supposed to work at headquarters once a week, but that was shut down after a mere two days. The company has since adopted an inflexible hybrid model that seems to be trending toward more days in office than WFH. Suggestions for improvement to interdepartmental processes were never implemented. Regarding low-performing employees, the only disciplinary action taken was against those in the top rank by making them pick up the slack. It was a struggle to process an ever increasing volume of work on ancient laptops programmed with malfunctioning internal systems. A hardware/software reseller boasts billions in revenue and invests more resources in rebranding than its technology or employees.

Management sucks

Pros

HQ commute isn’t too bad.

Cons

Management is cheap. Company gouges you any time they can. Benefits get crappier every year with higher co pays. CEO is non existent and the environment is one of a sick in-bred incestual dating environment where they applaud all the in company match making. VPs and Directors are only people that make money and margins suck. I would recommend this place to my worst enemy though.

While we respectfully disagree with your assessment of SHI’s benefits and culture, we do appreciate your feedback. Although it appears too late to help you while still an employee, your 5+ years of experience at SHI certainly deserve a response. SHI recently announced an expansion of our employee benefits in 2019, adding an orthodontic plan and increasing coverage on vision and dental. We’re also currently in the process of rolling out a more user-friendly participant portal and mobile app to increase transparency and availability of benefit information to eligible employees. You are correct that SHI is proud of a culture that supports the inevitable friendships / relationships that develop when like-minded individuals work towards common goals over time. We are happy to see both families and friends committed to the success of themselves and SHI. It is worth celebrating! Thanks again for your feedback. We hope your future commute to work continues to be a good one!
