Pros

There used to be Pros, but the past 2 years have been an absolute free fall with this place. The people are great (not CEO, VP’s, or upper management). All my co-workers in the trenches are amazing and smart people who deserve so much better than this place.

Cons

Every con you can possibly think of applies to this company. Don’t fall for the short worded 5 star reviews, these are probably created by HR to balance out all the negative reviews. All the long paragraphs of negatives on other reviews are all 100% accurate. The pay is absolutely horrid for any position and baseline criminal for a 15 billion dollar “company”. There is no loyalty, I’ve been here over 5 years and pretty much make the same/less as when I started. CEO and upper management are criminals who enjoy stealing and taxing their own employees just to keep the charade of being “debt free”. Instead of paying what we deserve, they implement internal taxes of up to 4% every order so they can use that money to build new offices (which not a single person wants/cares about). Upper management lies to our faces every single day and acts like we don’t know they’re lying. They don’t listen to feedback nor care because they’ll just replace you with a 21 year old fresh out of college who will listen to whatever is told to them. All of the direct managers I’ve met/had are all amazing people who truly care about you. Once you start to creep up the chain to senior managers and VP’s, they are actual robots who don’t have any human emotion or emotional intelligence. I am so disappointed in how this company is turning out and I feel terrible for anyone who works here (myself included). Monday-Friday I am in a complete depression and I am way past the point of being burnt out. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AND SANITY.

Pros

They are very good at making your believe they care about your mental health and well being

Cons

They are a private company so they can do whatever they want.... and they do. They hire their friends and relatives and do nothing to support employees (except for the ones who are related to them). If you are working there now and they find a friend who wants a job, you're out. Zero remorse. They do not have an employee evaluation system so they fire people with no action items, history, or reason.

Pros

SHI has a great culture amongst the people. During my time with SHI, I have met many friends and fostered many relationships. SHI also has diversity programs which make employees feel included.

Cons

The biggest con I would say is the compensation. The company does not pay well even if you are a tenured employee. In order to maximize your salary you need to be an Account Executive in sales. Also, there is disconnect between management and the employees. Senior Management does not communicate properly with middle management and that causes issues with those who are lower in the hierarchy. Although SHI has a promote from within culture, the salary does not match the promotion. Bonuses are taxed like commission checks and from a culture standpoint, it becomes more about who you know versus what you know.
