Pros

- Vending machines on-site - Parking is not an issue. - No mandatory OT for hourly employees. (Hours are cut due to obvious reasons)

Cons

- No upward mobility. - Just a headcount. - Insanely High Turnover. (Revolving door) - Corporate does not care about non-salaried employees. - Being asked to do more than expected. (Fulfilling other job duties not outlined in contract review) - Underpaid and overwhelmed culture. - 1% annual raise if management does not find a way to excuse themselves from giving it to you at annual reviews. - Outdated systems - Benefits are not that great at all.

We appreciate getting constructive feedback on how we can improve. Unfortunately, there are too many incorrect statements in this review for me to consider it constructive. I encourage you to start a dialogue with your supervisor, co-workers or HR. Our employee engagement survey scores in the areas of work hours, work load, advancement, recognition, and compensation and benefits suggest that others might have different opinions to share with you. We're proud of SIFCO and hope we can help you see the many reasons why people choose to work here.

Pros

Pay was on time. Staff had a lot of experience.

Cons

Unnecessary pressure is put on co-ops within days of starting. Little to no on-boarding time. Staff is not personable, and makes new employees feel unwelcomed.

Thank you for your comments. We’re glad you appreciated the experience of our Engineering team, but we’re sorry to hear that your Co-op wasn’t fully satisfying. We pride ourselves in providing challenging co-op assignments and recognize that our environment isn’t the right fit for everyone. We appreciate your advice regarding our onboarding process and we’ll look into how we can make improvements.

Pros

Pay and benefits are average to above average.

Cons

Management and Union are constantly arguing. HR dept. has constant turnover with lack of contractual knowledge . Some union reps are constantly filing grievances with little merit and some supervisors dismiss the contract, especially ones who have been there a while.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate getting feedback, even if it’s not what we would like to hear. The nature of the union-management relationship is that we sometimes disagree, and when we do we work together to find solutions. We’ve recently held Town Hall meetings to hear ideas from all employees on how we can work together most effectively. Regarding your advice, we agree that it’s important to treat employees consistently and we train our supervisors on fair management practices to support this. We're not perfect, but we continuously improve. It's also good to hear that you appreciated our competitive pay and benefits!
