Pros

Pay is decent. Great food is provided often. Events and small gifts provided by the event team is awesome! 401k matching is better than most places.

Cons

Very hard to fit in. If one person decides they don’t like you your time could be short lived. New employees have a different set of rules because "they have not paid their dues yet" New salaried employees have to make up any missed time no matter how small the amount of time. Sometimes you are forced to use vacation time for a 2 hour doctor appointment and are not allowed to make up the time. There is little consistency. Some people wear jeans while others are told they can’t. No training plan in place for new employees. What little training that is provided changes on a daily basis depending on who is doing the training. It is hard to focus and learn when you are under such duress. Technology is dated. Suggesting more efficient methods are met with resistance and many older employees don't want to have to learn anything new and are just waiting for retirement. Manual processes that could be automated. They would rather perform familiar steps than learn something new with fewer steps regardless of the time it would save them. They have been there for over thirty years and cannot easily adapt to a new environment but expect you to learn their outdated methods. HR has been informed at one time or another.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company. SMC³ has been and currently is working to make changes that will help the company move forward. We have set policies for any out of office time and have recently updated them to align with other companies. As for the dress code, there are some departments within the company that are allowed to dress more casually than others. It is based on job duties and the safety of the employee. We understand that many companies use different types of technology. SMC³ always strives to use the most up to date and relevant technology that is compatible with our products and goals. SMC³ is proud to say that we have employees with many years of service dedicated to the company. While we do have many tenured employees, we have been steadily hiring and have many employees now that are within the 3-5 year group. We are sorry if anyone feels that they did not "fit in" with others. SMC³ takes pride in providing managers with leadership and management training/courses when needed.

Pros

Financially stable, good benefits, investing in company growth

Cons

With the smaller size, not much room for personal growth/advancement. Do not seem to hold people accountable; do not let people finish one project before pulling to another - start and stops; do not seem to listen to people as much as all the surveys suggest;
