Pros
- Great team. Some of the brightest people I have ever worked with. Everyone is a hustler and there is a lot of collaboration. - Lot's of room for growth. Many people get promoted and get to do what they strive for (see what I did there?) in their career. - Cool product. Actually is changing the world. The future of education is at STRIVR. Also theres nothing like telling your friends you work in VR which is a cool buzzword. - The food is good, many choices. - Pretty standard startup culture, which is good. You won't be chained to a cubicle. There's a game room. People in the offices try to get to know each other. There is a good balance of happy hours, and outdoor activities that people participate in, but not too much where it's annoying. Management tries very hard to be transparent.
Cons
- Becoming corporate. Before I left they were hiring tons of people. Many didn't fit the original cool athletic startup vibe, and the culture was changing. - Terrible sync between offices. Very hard to work and foster relationships with people from remote offices. - The rules and procedures are very much in a gray area. They are trying to hash out what they will look like as they grow past the small company stage. Do not be surprised if you or a friend get fired without any real explanation or lead up and it is swept under a rug.
