It still seems to be going down hill.
Pros
The company pays weekly which is wonderful and every once in a while if you donate to charity you can dress down for a month.
Cons
Let me first say I have been here for about 2 years and this is my honest opinion of the company. In the past this place was a decent place to work, but they have implemented so many little rules and things you must say on the phone that truly hinder the sales process. It wasn't bad when I first began working here (every company has protocol) but my goodness now they want you spending so much time trying to get customers to talk about things other than auto glass (building rapport). Now this would be fine if the call volume wasn't so high but 5 minute phone calls have turned into 10-15 minute phone calls which place more calls in queue and 50% of the time the customers are getting mad and hanging up because they just wanted an auto glass quote (not confess their life stories). It get's worse because even if you convince them into scheduling and they end up canceling the appointment it affects your commission because about 3/4 of everything you schedule has to show up or you don't get ANY commission for that week. I don't follow a lot of these rules and I am still a top perfomer on my team and I still make commission. They really need to trim the fat with their processes and focus on quality and efficiency because right now the call volume is extremely high when a few little tweaks could dramatically boost sales and moral. In my experience unhappy places of work have high turnover rates. Safelite has an extremely high turnover rate. There are new training classes coming in constantly, large classes around 25-30 people yet inside the call center always seems to be understaffed. Because of this call volume is always very high. The job coaches are very strict about unscheduled time off the phones which I believe is because they can't keep the people they hire, if you need to use the restroom and you are longer than 4 or 5 minutes there is a possibility you will get written up. This is not a joke. There is no room to move up, you could become a job coach but even a couple of job coaches themselves have said it's not worth it! Everyone who works here is always complaining about the call center or their coach, however it's all truth and I don't blame them!
