Pros

You learn a lot from people that have been around for awhile. Stores in the area are clean. You learn a lot of good skills (merchandising ect...)probably mostly due to the area.

Cons

The hours in the stores keep getting reduced making it more and more difficult to do our jobs. A lot of people that hold high positions in the company shop in the stores all around HQ so if things are not perfect 24/7 pictures are taken and then shot like a cannon thru company email.

Pros

Starting at Safeway as a courtesy clerk and ultimately moving up the management in 5 years has allowed me to gain valuable management experience that will be useful in future job openings. It does depend on the store you work for, but there are many with great people that make the day-to-day tasks more enjoyable.

Cons

It's your basic retail situation so working on holidays, sporadic schedules, dealing with irate customers are all part of the job.

Hours were bad Health benefits were bad Upper management is poorly picked Micomangment is very popular in stores Store Managers are dumber then door nails
