Pros
I have worked at Saginaw Control for over seven years. I began my career in the shop, worked hard, and was given more and more responsibility. The shop work is hard and demanding but nothing out of the ordinary for factory labor. After a few years in the shop I was promoted into a position in the office and continued to learn new skills and advance in the company. A lot of other reviews on here talk about how you need to be family with the owners in order to advance, but I am proof of the opposite. I didn’t know anyone going in and now I manage three departments. The pay starts off great and continues to grow if you are a motivated worker. Fully paid medical insurance is included in the benefits package, along with dental and a 401k match. In the last few years the company has focused more on the culture that it fosters with employees, granting more paid vacation for everyone, implementing shop-wide raises, developing and administering structured training programs, and training supervisors and management to be more educated on how to better lead employees. These types of changes are still being implemented and developed, and I can only see improvements in the balance of work life and home life for all employees coming from it. SCE really is a great place to learn new skills and earn a living.
Cons
For some, expectations to come to work on time and work hard are unreasonable. If you have a good work ethic this won't be an issue for you.
