Pros

Lots of giveaways, fun activities There's a bar in the office with not just beer but top shelf liquor. If you like to drink at work, this is the place for you 401K ROTH, not many companies have it, there's no match but the fund choices are pretty good. 'Unlimited' vacation, which sounds good on paper but hard to actually use beyond the standard 2 weeks. I used to think the compensation was high, until I got an offer for 8K more

Cons

Very few processes - for example there is no annual employee performance review. This works to your advantage if your 'in' with your boss. For the folks in Sales and Engineering the goals seems pretty clear but the rest of the team is left in the dark. And without written goals, you could find yourself out of a job for not meeting goals, which is hard to do what are the goals and when they are due. CEO is heavily involved all levels of the organization, above and beyond what one would expect in a small company with an employee count under 200. This can make it very challenging for any manager. This has led a culture of 'yes' men and women. Heavy duty drinking culture - if you don't drink, you will not be in the clique and we are not just talking Sales folks chugging beers. If you manager drinks there is an unwritten expectation to show up at the bar after 4 and continue working from there. There are no all hands company meetings. News gets filtered down via Slack channels or from meetings w/ managers. Slack is the primary communication method.

Thank you for the feedback regarding your experience. We’re pleased to hear you saw the value in the work-life balance at Samanage. We recognize that this balance is vital for personal health and relationships, and fostering this type of environment continues to be a priority for us. Samanage is in an agile industry that at times requires pivots in our strategic direction. While we try to inform all teams about our decision making process, sometimes the decisions our executive team makes are made quickly. This is one of the reasons we have implemented regular Town Hall meetings, so we can keep people up to speed as quickly as possible The office bar serves as an avenue employees use to engage and collaborate with team members they may not otherwise interact with regularly. In the afternoon, you will often see individuals from various departments sitting down and working together over a beer, soda, or even a glass of ice water. That being said, we consistently communicate that there is no pressure or expectation for employees to participate in this type of activity. Our employees are adults capable of making their own decisions and knowing their own limits. We're disappointed to hear your opinion on our compensation structure and benefit offerings. We regularly review all salaries to ensure that our employees are being compensated within appropriate market ranges. We're also quite proud of our competitive benefits package that includes medical/dental/vision coverage at no cost to employees, 401(k) match, unlimited PTO, tuition and fitness reimbursement, and stock options (to name a few). Finally, we'd like to address the comments made regarding our Founder and CEO. We're proud of our fearless leader. He expects the best from everyone within the organization, and rightfully so. He has successfully led Samanage to be a disrupter and market leader in the ITSM industry, and we look forward forward to his continued leadership. Thank you for your feedback, and we wish you much success in the future.

Pros

Full benefits - last day of the month is a paid pub night -

Cons

Small office - good 'ole boy mentality. They reward employees with raises and promotions that are part of the "clique" even if they are some of the least productive employees.
