Pros

Salary and bonus are higher than most companies.

Cons

Fear culture (keep your head down, do not question status quo) constant old fashioned reporting, good ole boys club (sexist, spoken to like you are a child, very unprofessional environment) vacation time (frowned upon when you take vacation, old employees brag about not taking vacation in years etc), not forward thinking (I was told in interview I would be part of the new regime and would bring my expertise and experience to the role and help facilitate change. That is laughable. They do not want any change), a lot of talk about culture (from what I can tell, the “culture” is to keep your head down), HR is a joke. The CEO signs off on everything. And I mean everything. As a manager you will not be authorized to make any decisions. With 10 years experience in this industry, the State Manager position seemed entry level. The money wasn’t worth the constant daily beating you receive. Most of my peers were very unhappy and in constant fear.

Pros

The pay is really good. Job offers flexibility. There are some really nice people here. Great culture.

Cons

I have noticed myself and talking to several people that have been with the company for quite some time that management does not like change. People have really good ideas that could save the company money and cut down on turnover but they are always shot down. Most of the HR staff are too old school and not up to change. They are very nice people but people that don't like change. The onboarding for new hires is awful. This is one of the most important piece when trying to have that great employee experience coming in the door. There is really no onboarding process and procedure in place. I'm not sure if we have a handbook because I was never presented with one. The people on the HR team are not willing to change from old ways to new ways. Things are still being done the old school way. We focus more on serving the industry but put little or no investment in our employees. We need programs to invest in our employees. All we hear is the company is investing billions of dollars in distilleries but no investment in our employees. When we begin to invest in employees, our turnover rate will go down.
