There are so many that I'm sure I won't sum them all up in this section.
- Do you like changing titles and duties every few months, but with no pay increase? This is the place for you, then.
- Upper management culture is.. How best to describe it? Bro culture. All decisions seem to have been made in a late-night "brainstorming" session in their basement, eating pizza, while rambling about half conceived ideas. I imagine all of the bros were like "ohhh this is a killer idea dude!" Then those ideas are immediately implemented, without being fully thought out and planned for proper execution.
- With those poorly planned ideas being implemented, employees suffer. So many people are working the jobs of 2 or 3 people, with no raise.
- Absolute favoritism. It doesn't matter how hard you work, how they benefit from your ideas, etc. If you're not a sheeple and live and breathe Scale, then you can count on never being promoted.
- They say the job is 40 hours, but you can easily count on being "asked" to work 60 hours easily. Yes, that's right.. For the same pay. No OT here. So that 'high salary" you were offered, be sure to break it down into 12-hour or longer shifts, instead of 8-9, so you can get a truer picture of your hourly.
- Only FTE's matter, and that's not saying much considering they just laid off a ton of them. If you're a contractor? Be prepared to do your job and everything the FTE's don't want to do, but should be doing, for 1/4 of the pay.
Sure, you get to work for a company that has a name people recognize. But at what cost? If you truly value work life balance, this is not the place. If you prefer to be paid according to the value you bring to the company, this is not the place for you. However, if you're willing to kiss up and praise the CEO, and say every poor business decision "just happens" and we need to go with the flow, then this is the place for you!
