Pros

Schellman provides benefits for its employees to help ensure that work/life balance is a priority, including PTO (sick leave, paid time off, volunteer time off), firmwide closures for holidays (July 4th, Thanksgiving, MLK day, Christmas, New Years, etc.), and a flexible work-from-home schedule. Schellman's CEO maintains transparency by communicating with employees regarding business objectives, outlook, and changes/updates on a regular basis. Benefits also include up to 10% match 401k, health insurance coverage for self and spouse/family, pet insurance discounts, and regional/corporate trips (with and without plus ones) for team bonding, recharging, and collaboration. Schellman additionally has resource/advocacy groups for employees to join to promote a diverse, equal, and inclusive environment. Management trusts individuals to perform quality services/work without micromanaging. Bonuses are also considered based on overall company and individual performance.

Cons

Schellman relies on individuals to maintain their own workload; meaning, if micromanagement is required for individual to get the job done - this is not part of Schellman's culture. (Can be considered a PRO for individuals not looking to be micromanaged)

We appreciate your review! Thank you for the details on the benefits, and on the (lack of) micromanagement. People First!

A lot of changes

Pros

The amount of time off is one of the best if not the best. Management encourages the pursuit of certifications and tries to work with our schedule to help with our success. I do see the quality in our work and makes me proud to be part of this firm.

Cons

There's been a lot of changes implemented as of late. A lot of new metrics have also been introduced which makes it feel like we're losing the core of what Schellman is. The factors that use to make us stand out against our competitors are being phased out and I don't appreciate it. I chose Schellman because we were so unique but we're slowly transforming into every other company. Compensation could be a bit more competitive as well.

Quality above all! We love to hear that you're proud to be at the firm based on the quality of our work! PTO and management support of development are also great things. With growth, does come change, and we appreciate your insight on both. Please feel free to send any other thoughts to feedback@schellman.com.
