Lacking in maturity and professionalism

Pros

The pay was decent, good benefits, and ample opportunity for growth within the company.

Cons

Remember that this place is an internet marketing company who specialize in generating positive feedback, and take all of the glowing reviews with a grain of salt. Scorpion Design has a strange and obnoxious company culture, with an employee median age of probably 24 years old. Rather than contributing to a fun working environment, the complete lack of maturity and professionalism makes it hard to do your job. From what I understand, the owner of the company hired all of their friends to work at Scorpion, and as the company grew, they hired all of their friends, and so on. As a result, very few in the company are actually qualified for their positions. This has created a situation where you have a ton of managers who are really young, who don't have a lot of real world experience, but have fancy work titles, and have developed a totally arrogant attitude The pay, which is salary, at first seems pretty good. However, when you factor in all of the over time hours you will be expected to put in, it really isn't that much. If you accept a job here, be prepared to regularly dress up in really stupid costumes, deal with cliques reminiscent of jr high school, put in a ton of overtime, and report to a boss who is 23 and inexperienced.

Pros

- Culture is absolutely phenomenal. - The teams are extremely tight and everyone is moving in the same direction. - "Customer first" has a completely different meaning when you get to SD. - Customers are the best form of advertising. - The CEO is involved in all aspects of the company, and truly cares about everyone. - SD is a technology company in an industry that traditionally just focuses on sales. - WORLD CLASS

Cons

If you're new to the workforce, then you need to understand that SD is not normal. There are no greener pastures in this space, so don't even look.

Pros

Customer-focused. Innovation-driven. Rabidly-passionate. In my entire career, I have never worked for (or even seen) a company like Scorpion. Scorpion's leadership has built its business on being absolutely focused on delivering a competitive advantage to its customers through its technology and services. They take no shortcuts and make no compromises. Management invests in the team with a generosity that is completely unique. A massive amount of resource and investment in training the business development teams and the marketing consultants has been done that is literally Fortune 50 quality. There is an unbelievably passionate base of customers. Scorpion's Net Promoter Score is through the roof. Finally, there are lots of secret weapons under the hood at Scorpion: Speed. Quality. Innovation. Team commitment. And probably the most difficult thing to replicate (and where most companies eventually fail) is an uncompromising focus on the needs of the customer. This starts at the top and rolls downhill at Scorpion. All of those things combine to deliver a consistent and distinctive advantage to Scorpion's customers. The competition is in trouble. This rocket ship is leaving orbit.

Cons

Welcome to Top Gun. Working here is not for washouts. Do not come to Scorpion if you "just want a job." You will not last here. Come to Scorpion if you're willing to work to become the best you've ever been. Nothing less. This is a team for people who are willing set their own bar and work to push past it for the good of the team and the customer. Baggage, mistrust, dishonesty, excuses or mediocrity is not welcomed or tolerated. Iron sharpens iron at Scorpion. Con: You will be ruined from working for anyone else.
