Pros

The number of PTO days was the only pro. However, you had to work unpaid OT before and after time off to keep your head above water.

Cons

Computer systems constantly down but you still get gigged on QA. There is no good security constantly getting emails from spam princes. First reporting is not timely yet CE gets gigged from when claim hits Sedgwick even it was days before you got it. You get claims and diaries on scheduled PTO AND weekends. Top performers get dumped on and pickup slack from the never ending turnover coupled with claim pending inequity. Communication is poor with leaders ignoring emails. No direct access to IT and wait for up to 48 hours for a response. Fax number for mail submission is down frequently. They don’t pay for phone or internet so the company computer phone is a crackling mess. There is NO ZILCH opportunity for advancement to Senior claims everyone has the same title. I would never be a Team Leader at Sedgwick their expectations are ridiculous. I have never felt my experience, training and knowledge was respected. The pay raises are 1-2% at best even if you’re rated consistently exceeding expectations. The pay is lower than a carrier. Some years I got zero but was given a small stipend. No bonuses. 401k match is subpar. Benefits are poor and very expensive. HR aka CR is beyond a joke. There is no email or phone to reach them. You have to fight them for an answer and they keep closing your inquiry. They are owned by a massive investment group but none of that trickles down. I was a purchase as I’d never voluntarily work for a TPA. Do yourself a favor and stick with a carrier

Benefits are not good

Pros

Most co-workers are great. Starting pay is not bad

Cons

*Punished for doing a good job by getting people who don't, work. * there is no COL raise. It's a merit raise and you are lucky if you get 1%. Meanwhile, the insurance goes up higher each year than your 'merit' raise, (if you get one). Insurance is a joke. It's basically catastrophic insurance. OOP is $5, 7 and $10k, for one person. * the work load is large.

Pros

My colleagues are wonderful. Work from home. I can't fault the CEO because he's in the dark and has no understanding of what the little people do everyday.

Cons

Core values apply to their clients and not employees. Upper management has zero idea what happens below them because middle management "handles" situations that would cost them and others their jobs. They tout diversity and inclusion yet many leaders openly discriminate. Zero tolerance for retaliation yet they allow supervisors to complete reviews on subordinates who have complained to HR. Unrealistically high caseloads for nurses that don't allow for management of medical treatment. Productivity over all. During Covid we lost our 401 match, could not rollover our PTO , no raises, and employees that were merged with Sedgwick lost a week of pay when placed on their pay schedule at CHRISTMAS, we were offered 1k interest free loan to help with holidays but it would be paid on 12.31. They would take it out of your pay over the year and you'd get that pay back if you left. Not true. After 2 years in with Sedgwick, these same employees were told the workday is only 7.5 hours as opposed to 8. So for 2 years they lied to employees. But you're expected to bill at least 9.5. Raises are a joke. Favoritism abounds. Multiple state licenses required, but your CEUs and background checks can't be completed on company time. An insurance company with the worst health coverage for its employees.
