Pros

Family Atmosphere 401k is matched and vested right away Work from home two days a week Decent yearly Bonus Occupational Health Department is easy to work with

Cons

Not full work from home Pay does not equal the work the required health insurance is bad Middle Management is bad Dental insurance is only ok no pension bad paternity and maternity leave open office you can be covered by a lot with FMLA but when you come back from it watch out Spend more on trying to get PGA golf tournaments and hotels than their people Very pushy for employees to contribute to United Way but then they take a lot of the credit Yearly reviews just feel like a way to keep your pay lower as management does not really agree with your own assessment When you assess management nothing really changes if though they get really bad scores Environment can seem very vindictive

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It’s great to know the benefits you enjoy and that you look forward to working in our hybrid model. To address the benefits you mentioned, we recently conducted an associate benefits survey to get feedback about our entire benefits package and better understand what our associates are looking for. We’re taking all feedback into consideration as we look to update our benefits. In regards to any challenges with your workspace or the people you work with, I encourage you to reach out to your manager or your HR representative. Please know we’re always open to feedback and want to do what we can to address any concerns. Thank you again for sharing a review. Jim Frank – Chief Information Officer

Pros

401K match, the usual benefits, holidays Amazing teams of hard working people Claims experience that is highly valued at better competitors.

Cons

Local Management doesn't know how to manage workload. Micromanaged down to the second with your availability Phone reports are scrutinized so bathroom breaks and health issues are actually eligible for disciplinary action unless you disclose your reasons. Endless redundancy in workload, systems, and for each level of management review for authority or coverage decisions. Stop shoving all the work down to the line, and work to remove the busywork from the adjusters! Promotions are only eligible for those that play well in office politics. Favoritism rules this office. And if one manager dislikes you, go ahead and rewrite your resume! You are on the way out!

It’s great to hear you enjoyed the people you worked with and the benefits we offered while you worked at Sentry. I’m sorry some of your other experiences weren’t as positive. Please know we recognize the workload in claims tends to be challenging to predict so we’re consistently striving to provide balance to all our associates. We also take your comments about process and management seriously and plan to look further into that information. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Michele Dufresne – Chief Claims Officer

Pros

Great money and benefits for the area. The maternity leave is their best perk. 6 weeks paid and falls under FMLA.

Cons

No work/life balance. Over worked and under paid. Very stressful. Unrealistic expectations. Salary means working 6 days a week at times. Expect anxiety attacks. This is not a 40 hour/week job no matter what the trainer tells you...

We’re sorry to hear you found the claims profession to be stressful and preferred not to work in our team environment. Sentry remains committed to a positive and productive work environment for all of our claims associates. To that end, we continually monitor staffing levels to ensure fair workloads for our claims associates and quality outcomes for our customers. Thanks again for your comments.
