A great start

Pros

1. It is extremely difficult to get fired. You have to be a horrible individual to get fired from this place. 2. The company leaders are moving towards correcting past issues and implementing best practices. 3. Very laid back company. 4. Perfect for a first job after graduating.

Cons

1. Hi turnover! 90% of the company employees have been here less than 2 years. So everyone is still in the learning phase. This causes a lot of mistakes, doubt, low moral, and low accountability. Mostly because of lack of training. 2. Low pay, no raises.

Don't pay enough for the issues you have to deal with.

Pros

Gain experience and so much more from helping others. A lot of breaks and down times. Work as much overtime as you'd like, but at minimum wage you have to in order to pay bills. You get reimbursed for dining in to eat with individuals, and when you have to drive individuals around in your vehicle so you can get out and about with certain clients.

Cons

Very stressful, Minimum wage no matter how long you work there(been there for 8 years and still no raise), you can work as much overtime as you'd like, and usually will be stuck working hours that you don't want to due to the high turn over rate and the lack of staff(even if you're in a house with 2 people in wheel chairs, you'll still be made to work by yourself), Supervisors don't get paid near enough to care as much as they should either. You also put all kinds of wear and tear on your vehicle but the company won't pay to help fix your personal vehicle you use to drive the individuals around. You could get promoted, but most people choose not to because the responsibilities far outweigh the pay rate(being on call 24/7 and having more than 5 houses to run and keep staffed at one time, but if you don't have the staff then you are stuck working those hours. All in all I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Pros

Excellent quality services and they like to promote within the company. Flexible work schedule depending on the position. Working with consumers is rewarding and ensures no day at work is ever the same.

Cons

The last time annual raises were given was in 2007. There is no benefit for long term employees they make the same as new employees. The work gets piled on and they show no appreciation for the employees which deliver the services that make them a top provider.

Thank you for writing such a comprehensive review. We value your feedback, with your perspective as a long tenured employee. You are absolutely correct, without an excellent and caring staff, we would not be able to fulfill our mission. Our goal is to ensure that all employees have a personally and professionally rewarding experience with us. As your review notes, we do offer flexible scheduling where possible and strongly believe in promotion from within. In places where we don’t have a formal annual raise program we do offer an annual bonus program, based on team and individual performance. Thank you for all that you do to support our mission, our employees and the individuals we are privileged to serve.
