Pros

The Clients. The clients are the best they love you unconditionally. They make each day there tollerable.

Cons

Management is uncaring, unfair. If you are not in the click they do everything they can to make life as an employee at their company pure hell until you either resign or get terminated, whichever comes first. They dont care at all about the clients they serve that keeps their doors open as a company.

Pros

Getting to know the kids ,taking them places and teaching them.

Cons

The verbal and physical a.buse from the kids that the mentor network allows them to do to staff . As a human being we have our rights ,but the mentor network tell us we don't. if a kid attacks you you can not protect yourself, you have to allow them to hit you or you have to block it. You can not touch them at all .if they hurt you the mentor network would tell you, you can not call the cop this is apart of your job . I did not sign up to be a kid punching bag.the more you call higher management they will tell you the same ,this is apart of your job.the mentor network do not give any kids consequences When kids abuse staff

Pros

If working with people is something you like to do, this is the job for you. Skills and knowledge you'll receive from Neuro Staff and Therapist is amazing. Watching your clients heal overtime, becoming more independent is fascinating.

Cons

Over worked, under paid. Coming into the job you are informed that Neuro is a team, and if we are in fact a "TEAM" LST should be included in more staff meetings, or team meetings, let them input information on the clients behalf. More training needs to be provided (each client is not the same, weight, height) LST staff should be prepared for transfers and assessments and protocols should be done before LST is assigned to Client. Organization is needed, Intensive, General and Visual Clients should be balanced out; For Example, being very understaffed with 80% of client intake being Intensive more staff need to called in ahead of time, this shouldn't happen but it does. Benefits and pay could be better but its not (NO RAISE IS GIVEN). If you don't have people skills, patients, devotion, or a general understanding of human services, you won't find satisfaction here.
