Pros

Flexible hours, reasonable pay, great group of dedicated, friendly co-workers, quality store management, nice customers, clean work environment, quality products.

Cons

Supervalu refuses to have competitive pricing. Company sales continue to spiral downward. Cutting labor is Supervalu's solution to the problem.

Pros

Flexible work schedules for part timers Basic work (doesn't require any special training, or certification) "Job security"-as long as you're breathing you have a job Decent employee discount (10% off store brand products)

Cons

For a job that is very basic and mundane, there is a lot of drama in our store. There is constant finger pointing and blame going around, but nothing ever gets resolved. There is a lot of wasted payroll in our store, mainly from full timers who've been with the company for years, making good money doing trivial things (like filling eggs, milk, and water in an 8hr shift). This store heavily relies on its part time grocery clerks to make sure the job gets done (for half the pay, half the vacation, etc. cetera), instead of getting rid of the dead weight full timers and promoting the hard working part timers. "Management" doesn't seem to care. They will let problems fester until a revolution happens in the department, and morale sinks faster than the Titanic. "As long as the job gets done", they enjoy taking advantage (overworking) of their part timers, while protecting their full timers (our store is non-union), instead of getting rid of the less productive, overpaid workers. The annual employee evaluations are a joke. You can be the best worker in the department, and only get a 3 out of 5 overall. A lot of people feel entitled because of their "time-in" with the company, and the motto of our store is "That's not my job" Our store is ancient and outdated, it needs a remodel bad. Shelves are bent, floor tiles are discolored, bare lights on the ceiling, et.cetera
