Pros

Half-day Fridays are a great perk, however they're always in jeopardy of being taken away on a whim.

Cons

Working at ShipperHQ is like being in a reality show where the prize is keeping your job, and the biggest twist is what your job will be that day—because job descriptions are less like roles and more like daily specials on a diner menu. The CEO? She's like a game of hot potato meets Whac-A-Mole—continually passing responsibilities around, with everyone hoping not to be the one who gets hit when the music stops. The CEO thinks strategic management is just a fancy term for playing Tetris with employees' desks and work schedules. She changes company goals and processes more often than a chameleon changes colors—leaving everyone scrambling to keep up with her erratic decisions. Progress in this company seems to hinge less on professional merit and more on one's willingness to constantly say 'yes' and participate in frequent after-hours social “activities''. If you're not keen on blending socializing with career advancement, this might not be the environment for you. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. It's less like a job and more like a game of dodgeball, where your mental health is perpetually the target. Honestly, the only thing more unpredictable than your job security at ShipperHQ is trying to guess what mood the CEO will be in each morning. The CEO’s constant micromanaging keeps everyone on edge, turnover is extremely high, and it seems like she may not fully understand how to effectively run a company.

Pros

Getting a half day on Friday. Many of the employees are incredibly smart, kind, and willing to help each other out.

Cons

This is easily the worst place I've ever worked. Karen the CEO is frequently mean and cruel. During company wide meetings she would exclaim that she could have sold the company years ago for millions of dollars but chose not to because of how much she "cares." She micromanages everything and expects employees to complete impossible requests. She frequently mocks employees in public settings and laughs it off with a "don't be so sensitive" attitude. It was never constructive, just mean. Turnover is super high because working conditions are so poor, and those who have remained at the company for years are Karen's favorites and insulated because they'll say yes to anything crazy she comes up with. Here's the best example I can think of how much of a dumpster fire this company is. Take a look at the "ShipperHQ - For The Cupcake Bakers & Roller Skate Makers" video on their youtube video. Imagine how much time, money, and effort was spent buying/fixing up that truck, the film crew, recording a song, and running around Austin with employees only to get 910 views in 10 months (as of right now). Who is this video for? Did it help drive new customer acquisition or was it a vanity project to keep the CEO happy for another day?

Pros

half day fridays thats about it!

Cons

CEO employs good management with good ideas and doesn't listen to them because she's controlling! Also employs managers who are terrible and don't last long or if they do it's because they are Yes people to her! CEO never sticks to plans and contradicts herself all the time! CEO talked bad about the staff behind their back to me on the phone and on slack and told me to delete the messages and not tell anyone. CEO called someone in a big company meeting that they are a ret$ard in front of everyone which I can't believe she did! CEO has got a COO who is way too junior for a role that big and is a YES person to her! Huge turnover of staff which is mostly management due to them not being able to manage because the CEO wants to do everything themselves! CEO tells you to run with something for you to do that and make something working better for them to turn around and say no. CEO will tell all her staff that they are doing amazing bla bla bla but in fact, they are struggling and just let 10 people go and even told one of them by Voicemail. CEO told me she was getting rid of one of them months ago and that they were getting fired.
