Pros

You meet some nice people and the CEO is very nice.

Cons

The fact that recruitment have to actively source and contact potential candidates says a lot - no one applies to work here! They will hire just about anyone no matter how unsuitable you are for the role. The turnover is very high because people soon realise its a terrible place. You are constantly surrounded by racist and sexist banter that goes ignored by senior management. Not a professional working environment in the least - it's embarrassingly awful. Sexual harassment is commonplace and when raised it is covered up by HR management.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here at Sidetrade. We’re committed to creating an engaging work environment for all employees. We are sorry for the way you feel about us, but at the same time, we can't accept false accusations. Racist and sexist banter in the workplace are not acceptable and we have shared your feedback with our local management team. Sidetrade has zero tolerance for sexual harassment. These are serious allegations and we would like to investigate them immediately. Please reach out to our Legal department legal@sidetrade.com. To ensure the authenticity of the content on the platform, Glassdoor allows users to write one review per year. We have former and existing employees enjoying our work culture and they share about their experience as you do. Glassdoor is not only for negative reviews and a positive review doesn’t mean fake review! The demand for software sales or software developers continues to grow each year and all roles become harder to fill. It is a well-known fact that there is a workforce shortage in the tech industry and yes the talent acquisition team has a direct sourcing approach to make sure we hire the right people.

Pros

- There are some genuinely good people who don’t even know what’s happening in the company. - Got a free trip to Paris (Even though I can buy a ticket myself) - Learnt something new because I had to pick up the dirt when management was always having “emergency work from home” but barely responding - I realised I work harder when it was 1pm and my manager went on a “work lunch” with other teams and came back drunk - if he even came back - I got to experience what it was like working in 1990. Very minimal employee comfort.

Cons

- On my first day, my manager was being inappropriate in a sexual way. I sent an email the next day to point that can never happen again. I gave the job a try because I was there for a mission. - The Officer is filled with much older men who make inappropriate comments all day. But nobody wanted to stand up to them. But why would they when HR dusts these under the rug and the Head of Talent Acquisition is a sales person always trying to get the win and last word? - HR will micro manage your backbone and will send out emails begging you to increase the ratings of the company. When I joined, they were under 3.4 stars - You’ll be told you can trust HR but they will be the first to kick you out and support “YES men” - The role they sold is not what I left my company for. Most tasks I thought I’d take on where controlled by the managers boss OR they would control things together, make decisions and never tell you. The level of shadiness here is REAL. - There was no management support. Most times he called in “sick” - if you have strong values and principles, avoid - there’s more but I will stop here. - which company says they are doing so well when they struggle to make 26m and keep it steady? You’ve been around for 20 years. Wake up.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry for the way you feel about us. Sidetrade has been recognised as one of the fastest growing tech firms in the AI and Machine Learning domain. We are on a journey to support our customers. Such a journey is not without its ‘growing pains’ challenges and opportunities. People are at the heart of Sidetrade success and we take a robust approach to select the right talent. We make every effort to create a work environment for people to be at their best, feel happy & valued, deliver high end results and grow their career through meaningful jobs and our employees share their positive experience. We spot, recognise and reward people with high potential, the right aptitudes and natural talent. Such are positive thinkers, resilient & patient, good sense of humour but very ambitious and a real desire for everyone to be successful! The ones that don’t achieve success here often end up moving on rather quickly, feeling disappointed, resentful and the desire to evaluate their time with a review that expresses blame- but never themselves. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
