Yikes! TL;DR steer clear! I think the most telling thing about SimpliSafe in RVA is why it exists in the first place. There was a call center in the Boston office that was so terrible to work at, when they brought a consulting company in to give recommendation to fix it they told them to just start a new call center from scratch. The Boston call center was beyond saving. The RVA call center is quickly heading down that same road. Things were good there when it first opened and the original Site Director was still there, but they fired her for caring more about culture and customer service then the numbers. It’s been a steady down hill slide since the site launched in 2020. There had been constant restructuring and layoffs. People will be targeted out of the blue by managers with the full support of HR. They will pick someone and then dig and dig (sometimes even through former employees deactivated email accounts) to find anything to write you up. They are currently being sued by numerous people for wrongful termination. This place is super easy to get into (surprise surprise) but impossible to rise up in. They constantly hire from the outside and have no training or development past new hire (I would know - I built all that training). They are also in the midst of outsourcing the vast majority of they call center to Costa Rica and the Philippines. I would be surprised to see mass layoff happening at the RVA site sooner rather than later. Moral is at an all time low there. It’s a shell of its former self.
