      Million and one restructurings

      Pros

      There were a lot of great engineers who worked in the original companies that Sinch bought.

      Cons

      During last years Sinch and especially Sinch SMB/SaaS was doing restructuring three or four times. In the beginning it was just changing organizational structure, but then really good employees were fired for cost saving. After firing employees, Sinch hired cheap non competence people instead of them. Right now Sinch announced one more global restructuring, and it looks like there will be a lot of employees who will be fired again. All my colleagues don't believe in Sinch and their management.

      Changing for the Worst

      Pros

      On the front lines, most managers and teams are high functioning and work hard to serve customers and meet expectations despite a significant amount of underinvestment. There are some very interesting product and engineering problems to solve across the organization. Overall, the company has a strong portfolio of products.

      Cons

      The company is undergoing near constant reorganizations. By the time the organization is settled, a new organizational structure is announced. The latest organization lasted less than 8 months before a new structure was introduced. In the latest reorg, the amount of exceptional talent that is leaving the organization is staggering. High performing teams were completely decimated for political reasons. Many great people are actively interviewing and will be leaving, it's hard to see this not causing major harm to the business and morale. It's not a well kept secret that a cost reduction program and layoffs are coming early next year, but senior leadership refuses to acknowledge this directly. The new CEO continues to recruit employees from her old company, which has been in perpetual decline. Employees are reluctant to challenge these new leaders, some of which are out of their depth. As part of the organization, the number of underqualified people appointed into roles does not instill confidence, especially in product and marketing.
