Pros

Great pay, decent benefits. Remote work flexibility in SOME positions.

Cons

Once the CEO hired Joe Inzerillo, a ex-Disney exec, it’s gone terribly downhill. After ruining a Hulu merger and leaving them to clean up the pieces, he came to SXM and ensured his buddies came along, replacing tenured and talented senior staff. This completely ruined the culture and growth opportunities for those that had been with SXM. If you are not ex-Disney, or don’t know how to play the game, they will lay you off in a heartbeat. Joe I., now CTO, bloviates about nothing with impressive style and somehow manages to get the board of directors and CEO eating out of his palm despite nothing to show for his time there.. all of this leading to an incredibly toxic workplace, no good product that anyone cares to use, and an unforgiving culture that will spit you out the second you disagree or step out of the ‘yes-master’ mindset. Prepare to get laid off.. they’ve done it to many hundreds before and they will continue to do it as the company continues to fail.

Pros

Most of your peers are great.

Cons

The company will most likely tank after Howard Stern leaves. The leadership of the programming department both on the SiriusXM & Pandora side are highly racist, sexist, and homophobic. Management tries to fit people against each other with lies and gaslighting. Manager literally called Africa “the dark continent” and HR did nothing. Said employee who reported just happened to get laid off shortly after.

Pros

Flexible work schedule and good benefits

Cons

-Expect to be paid 10%-15% lower than market rate -Expect low bonuses -Never grateful for your hard work, I worked 2 jobs for 6 months when someone left and all I got was more work. They do not appreciate you here - no thank you, no good job, no extra $ at bonus time -Don't expect kudos or recognition for your work -Despite my hard work, I was laid off about a month before buying a new house. My boss knew I was buying a house. I nearly lost my house as a result. And this was after 5 years with the company. They truly DGAF. They'll use you when they need you, and then easily turn their back on you. -3 people were laid off on my team - all South Asians. What a coincidence!? -My boss didn't have the nerve to talk to me when they laid me off. My VP and SVP didn't have the guts to call me or even email me after spending 5 years at the company. Cowards. I called into a regular meeting on zoom, HR was there, and they told me it was my last day. That was it. They locked me out of my computer and I couldn't even say bye to my co-workers. And all 1 month before they knew I was trying to close on a house. If that's not effed up, I don't know what is. Highly unprofessional.
