Pros

- Hybrid work place with snacks - Co-working space with other companies - Decent software

Cons

If you don't want to take my word for it, you'll see for yourself. First off, you will be given 6 year old equipment that doesn't work well. Then you will undergo a month long training program with one of the worst trainers you will ever have. Once you are ill-prepared to start calling because of poor training you'll have a 3-5 month ramping period that really isn't treated that way. You will be micro managed the entire time. The product isn't much different than the competition and it lacks PMS functionality. Its too basic for large hotels and too expensive for smaller ones This is definitely the worst tech company I've ever worked for and I suggest an American company instead of one based out of Australia. Only the Latin America market does well.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we are disappointed that your journey with us didn't work out. As you know, we work hard to maintain a very open culture where feedback can be submitted via our anonymous platform at any time. We are very proud of our accomplishments that see our products winning 5 separate categories at the HotelTechAwards, including #1 Hoteliers Choice and #1 Best Hotel E-commerce platform, so we are delighted to know that our customers also feel the same way as we do about our product set and the value it brings everyday. We strive to offer a unique career pathway to all our sales teams, designed to train and develop sales professionals as well as recognise achievements through promotion and expansion of role, from the first sales role through to leading teams and we have experienced record promotions across teams as we strive to support their personal and professional journey. Pros

Good company culture, Beer Fridays, good PTO and health benefits.

Cons

The company is headquartered in Sydney, Australia and the US office has no input in the product. The US office just sells, implements and supports the product. The company is out of touch and has no interest in giving US customers what the want resulting in customers discontinuing the product after a few weeks. Lots of turnover in the company, This week alone four people resigned. Micromanaged beyond belief. If you work here get ready for managers to listen to your calls (training and sales.) Management is mostly clueless in what they are doing. The product is sub par to competition and generally more expensive resulting in 30%+ of sales dropping off. Tough market to sell in. SiteMinder will also try to sell you on growth but there is no where to go within the company. Managers are in place and not going anywhere and the company is not selling well enough to warrant any growth. Overall SiteMinder would be a good place for someone fresh out of college to get some Saas Experience but I would not recommend.

Pros

Good pay and health benefits from the very first day!

Cons

Micro-managers who use intimidation and fear to manipulate unless you are part of their little group and kiss their rear. Leaders should never bully others and instead should develop, guide, capacitate, and enhance their employees’ strengths. Doesn’t matter if you do your best; they will always look for the smallest thing to complain to you about and belittle you. Effort is not appreciated and employees are undervalued. Suspicious, sketchy, weird vibe around the office. Key management personnel always on Skype chatting (most likely about irrelevant things outside of work) with other colleagues instead of doing their job of being helpful and approachable to their teams. You can see the annoyance/ anger on their face. Definitely people who have been frustrated with their lives and are unhappy which intoxicates the environment by making others feel guilty for any reason they may find on the 1 on 1 meetings. Lack of proper training. Don’t you dare asking for help: they will harshly let you know that they already did the onboarding and that they already spoke to you about the industry which makes them think their job is done. No ongoing support; they are there to sit down and wait for paychecks to come every two weeks. Showing initiative and asking questions in order to develop yourself will be seen as if you are incompetent at learning and that they made a mistake hiring you in the first place. Favoritism is huge here. The ones who advance are the ones who play “the game” management inflicts. Be ready to drop to the ground feeding everyone’s big egos. Everything looks superficially nice at first. It is just a matter of time until you realize how toxic this workplace is. High turnover at SiteMinder is due to high stress and employees burning out too quickly as it is impossible to be oneself.
