Pros

-The new "Explorer" Program (enables significant career growth) -SoFi is really good at recognizing their people for hard work -Solid benefits -SoFi works hard to listen to feedback from their people and implement solutions to make things work better, empowering everyone to help foster positive change -Flexibility working from home during pandemic

Cons

-Performance metrics are always a challenge, goals often seem unrealistic. -Sometimes marketing moves at breakneck speeds and the front line employees are the last people to hear about "that new promotion." There could be better communication between departments where necessary. *I'd recommend only to friends willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, start-up type of environment. I love SoFi and am proud to work here. Though at times it can be challenging, I am not looking to leave any time soon.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review of your SoFi experience. Our Operations employees are on the front lines talking to our members every day, and helping them get their money right. We are incredibly grateful for their (and YOUR!) dedication to our mission. We truly believe our people are our greatest differentiator, so having programs to help them grow, benefits to support them, and work flexibility is of the utmost importance to us. We are so happy to hear you have experienced this firsthand. We aim to create a consistently positive member experience with every interaction, and in order to do so, we set very specific metrics - all employees are provided metrics and evaluated against them on an ongoing basis, with a formal review each quarter. Every employee is held to the same set of metrics and we strive to give everyone the training and tools they need to meet and exceed expectations. As you know, we have a quarterly performance check-in program and a formal process to award merit increases and promotions. We also frequently review employee compensation to ensure it is fair and competitive based on external market data and individual performance. That said, we hear your feedback around compensation and promotions and encourage you to share your thoughts directly with your manager or PBP. We would not be where we are today without our incredibly smart, hard working, and dedicated employees like you. Thank you for being on this journey with us, and for taking the time to leave a review.

Pros

-There are handful of people that genuinely care. -Getting a good boss is imperative and make or break. -SoFi has good values.

Cons

-SoFi’s values are NOT mirrored in their culture in anyway shape or form. -SoFi is a breeding ground for micro-aggression, micromanaging, and tone-policing. -Feedback is a one way street. Do not even think of speaking to your manager. -Not a safe space to work for bipoc -Culture improvements are a lip service at best. -Mental acrobatic skills required to work here.

First and foremost, thank you for the 3+ years you have dedicated to working at SoFi! We appreciate your candid review. We utilize Glassdoor to not only give candidates a glimpse into what it’s like to work at SoFi, but also to compile, listen to and act on feedback from our employees - so we take your review very seriously. Many of your comments are not indicative of the type of culture we are trying to build. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcomed, included, and able to contribute. That starts with having a world-class management team. We recently hired a Learning & Development leader who is focused on manager excellence. We will soon roll out a series of trainings to give all SoFi managers the tools and resources to support and inspire their teams. Lastly, we highly encourage you to explore some of the support resources we have for employees around mental health and burnout by visiting the Benefits Mall or reaching out to our Benefits team directly. The continued WFH environment and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is causing a lot of stress for many working professionals, and your health is of the utmost importance! If you would like to share additional feedback, you can reach out to me directly, or email us at glassdoor@sofi.org. Thank you again for your thoughtful review. -Ana
