Wow, the fact that you have worked for multiple startups and have such nice things to say about Sofar means a lot. Connecting the world's oceans is really important to us, but also being a company that builds really cool technology helps make things all that more enjoyable. When it comes to recruiting and hiring, we know that we move slow sometimes, but this is intentional. It's important that we bring on the right people (like you) and aren't overextending ourselves as many startups can do. By being intentional about each and every hire, we feel that we are building a strong foundation and culture that will allow us to be successful for decades. Thank you for your feedback and suggestions on how we can be a great company for both our employees as well as the planet. These are all areas that we have grown and have addressed. The all-hands meetings are really important to us, as many people come from companies without much transparency across teams. Whether you are in engineering, marketing, customer success, or sales we hope that you are able to connect with teams and people across all departments. It has been a bit since this review was submitted and the company has grown a lot. Our HR team is built of team members with a lot of startup experience and we are proud of our inclusive company culture. When it comes to our Ocean Science and Engineering teams, they work extremely close and are constantly collaborating. If they weren't then we wouldn't have the world's best ocean weather models....which we now do :) We hope you learned a lot while working at Sofar and wish you the best in future endeavors!
