Pros

I honestly cannot think of one for this company.

Cons

They do not care about their employees. They keep reducing benefit values to employees while also making employees pay a higher portion of their "benefits" which decreases the value of their paychecks. People are treated well or bad depending on their "relationships" inside the company and which side of the financial standing they come from. This is a very snobbish company. Their main interest now are college students graduating this year so they can replace employees with them; next year they will be looking at the next graduating classes to replace employees with. Hiring right out of college means lower pay and experience is not a "must" for the company. They claim they treat employees well but the amount of recent turn overs make you question those words.

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to post a review. I’m sorry to hear you have been not been satisfied with our organization. At Sonepar USA we greatly value our employees and our culture. The health and well-being of our associates are also extremely important to us. We strive to provide comprehensive, high-quality, yet diverse benefits packages to provide the right fit for each employee’s needs. Although there have been slight medical premium increases, the national average has been an 8% increase, and Sonepar has kept it far below that with an average of 4.5%. We have not had dental or vision increases in 4 years. Additionally, we have added Vitality, a robust wellness program, that gives associates the opportunity to earn points that can be used for gift cards, among other things. We recruit recent college graduates to develop and bring new talent into our industry, with the intent for them to learn from our current employees. We are faced with the upcoming gap of a retiring workforce who hold a wealth of knowledge, and therefore are bringing new talent in not to replace, but to learn from them.

Pros

Great benefits, flex schedule options, casual attire, nice building, covered parking, understanding and friendly Mgt and others. Higher ups keep everyone informed with everything on the company.

Cons

Waiting 2 yrs for a raise, sometimes have to wait to be able to learn a new aspect of the job. Doesn't go in order of how long you been here and since everyone does not do start to finish in AP, it makes it hard to get ahead and gain more experience. Because of the high volume, it's broken down into groups who handle certain parts. Also with extra workload that keeps being added on makes it stressful to get things done sometimes. Kind of robotic doing the same thing all day every day.

We appreciate you taking the time to review. We’re glad that you enjoy our competitive benefit packages and flexible work schedules. Due to the decline in the oil and gas industry in 2016, we had to hold off on annual merits in select business units. We have recently issued merits to all Sonepar Management Group associates, and do not anticipate having to do this in the future. Our businesses are performing well in 2017, and we feel confidant that we will continue hit our growth projections in the foreseeable future. Actually, we do post our positions on the internal job posting board, Career Connections, and we are happy to report, recently, two of our AP associates were promoted into management roles. If you’d like to discuss your opportunities for growth within the company, we encourage your to reach out to your manager or your HR leader, Shawna Pierro.

We’re happy to hear you’re enjoying time spent with your fellow associates. There has been a significant shift in the relationship and ratio of FTEs to contractors as part of a recent realignment, and we are building a stronger partnership across departments. We are always striving to find the best balance between associate leadership and contractor expertise, and will continue to staff appropriately based on business needs.
