Pros

Some customers were great to talk to. Met some great coworkers (not management though!). Benefits. Work from home.

Cons

Everything else essentially. Strict guidelines, you can only transfer a small % of calls to technical support and even a smaller % to set an elderly person up with a technician to help them. Management had no idea what they were talking about half of the time, one would say one thing, and then another would say something else. Half the time the other manager would lie and say she never said such a thing, but when presented with screenshots and conversation of what she said, she would just say the same thing every time “oh I misunderstood you“. She was also a big bully to people she did not care for, which were usually people who questioned her. She got promoted despite multiple employees complaining about her. I’m sure it’s because she was dedicated I will give her that, and they would rather have someone who works on their days off all the time than a manager that actually treats the employees fairly.

Pros

Remote working Not dealing with customers ...That's literally it. Those are the only positives.

Cons

They literally let go hundreds of people (CA's, TLS's, managers) over a Zoom call in at least CO and AZ, unsure about the others, but possible. They even had the gall asking people on their days off to clock in for a mandatory meeting just to tell them they're being let go. Your performance literally doesn't matter. I was >95% monthly average on CLEARs for at the least the last few months, no write ups, always good on attendance, but none of that mattered. What really irks me is just last year they were talking about how they wanted to expand into Europe or whatever, but now they're "reducing workforce"? Which doesn't even make sense as idle times were AT BEST 10-15 seconds during the day. I know this company wants idle times to be literally zero seconds, but that's very not good for people actually doing the captioning. But it doesn't affect the higher ups who don't caption, so they don't care. Rising expectations while using terrible tools. How can you expect perfection out of people using bad software? You can have so many words be an issue with your profile, and yet somehow it's always your fault, never their "perfect software that never has any issues ever". They also recently implemented a "super cool" rating feature where randomly after a call, the customer can rate basically on a scale of 1-4 how good the captioning was, and if your monthly rating is below a certain amount, you'll get surprise remote monitor by management. Problem is, so many of these people think it's the "worst service ever" if even one word out of 10,000 misprints that you had no control over, so what is even the point of having the ratings? You'll never get a raise (even though it's desperately needed as pay is abysmal), and very very unlikely to get a promotion. You quite literally have a higher chance of winning the lottery. This place also participates in some shady things. There was an email sent out last year to basically all the CA's about organizing, and had a name of a Facebook group to join. I never joined, but kept an eye on the numbers. About a month or two later, after quite a few people joined, the group suddenly vanishes, and many of the CA's the email was sent out to were no longer employed there. Rather suspicious, if you ask me. Also, this company beats you over the head with how "diverse" they are and how much they "care", but like every other company, they're all talk.

Time of Change

Pros

A company whose actual day to day activities make a difference in the lives of their customers.

Cons

The company is currently going through massive change, in less than a year, 8 new executives, meanwhile hiring is frozen for the rest of the company among those that are actually doing the work. Lack of communication is rampant and employees are being told to apply for positions and are being passed over for external hires.
